The Human?

We all are human, aren't we?

I ask again; what are you?

you with your desiccated digits

you with your errant eyes

you with your dogged disguise

Where has this bug come from?

from its mosaic of mildew

from its haggard home

from crawling catacombs

Why is that miscreant upon our sacred plane?

to penetrate our pallid purity

to steal our servitude

to kill and collude

When shall we dispose of these wretches?

when we rightfully reap what they sow

when their ensuing eaglets seek education

when they crack the cage of our creation

How will we be rid of those dreadfuls?

by criminalizing their continuance

by dragging them from their dens

by baiting them with their brethren

You ask who we are?

we are pioneers and patriots, fighters of freedom and fairness

we are your brother, your neighbor, your professor

we are of sound mind and civilized nature

Who are we?

we are the ignorant, the spiteful, the angry

we are the confused, the misled, the scared

we are the descendants of diaspora, the products of persecution
